KONA, Hawaii: Hale Nani inmate Joshua Kalili was captured by Hawaii Police in Kona last night, according to a short media alert issued by the state Department of Public Safety.

Toni Schwartz, the Public Information Officer for the department, says “He has been charged with Escape 2nd. He is currently in the police cell block awaiting arraignment.”

Police reported the escape of 20 year old Kalili from the Panaewa reintegration facility on Sunday via the Nixle alert system. He is from Honaunau in South Kona.
