Ocean View is about to take one step closer to a getting much needed transfer station.

A resolution authorizing the county to acquire private property by eminent domain in order to create the Ocean View Recycling Point and Convenience Center Project passed through the County Council Finance Committee on Tuesday.

According to Resolution 79-11, the owners of the property are “Steven C. Eames and Patricia Jane Eames, Trustees of the Steven and Patricia Eames Trust dated September 16, 2005 (or their successor trustee(s)), Glenn Binford, Trustee of the Ronald A. Wilson Ronald A Wilson Revocable Living Trust dated January 26 2011 (or his successor trustee), and Tyson R. Bryan.”

The aquisition is justified by the county because the public need for a transfer station to serve the growing population of Hawaiian Ocean View Estates.
