Media release from Hawaii County Office of Mayor
HILO, Hawaii: In December, Typhoon Sendong ravaged Mindanao in the Philippines. The typhoon and flooding left over a thousand dead and many more homeless. Recovery efforts are still under way, and our Community can help.
Now through March 3rd, bring your donations of new or slightly used children’s clothing, footwear, toiletries, and school supplies to:
- Kamaʻāina Nissan, 471 Kalanianaʻole Ave. in Keaukaha
- Kamaʻāina Motors, 400 E. Kāwili St. in Hilo
- West Hawaiʻi Civic Center Information Desk, 74-5044 Ane Keohokālole Hwy. in Kealakehe
We’ll send it off to the Philippines to help the children displaced by Typhoon Sendong. For more information, call the Mayor’s Office at 961-8211.
