STORY SUMMARY

Eileen Narciso, a thirty year resident of Pahoa, prepares to leave.

(ABOVE VIDEO) Filmed by Dave Corrigan in Pahoa on October 27 – the same day civil defense began their door to door notice of evacuation due to projected path of the June 27 lava flow.

INSIGHTS

Part one in our video series featuring the way of life for those in the path of the lava flow. In this story, we speak to Eileen Narciso, a thirty-year resident of La’au Place – a small neighborhood cul de sac off Apa’a Street and near the projected path of the advancing lava. She was in the midst of packing up some last minute necessities for the family move to Kapoho, while the neighborhood youth ran one of their last games of basketball on the dead end street.
