  • WAIPIO BODY IDENTIFIED: After a Tuesday autopsy, Police reported 22-year-old Lindsey Nickerson of Kailua-Kona died of asphyxia due to drowning. Her body was found in Waipio Valley on Sunday. She was last seen alive Saturday afternoon (November 29) when she separated from a group of 25 persons during a hike in Waipio Valley.
  • NEW VIDEO – Waipio Cookhouse Sign Goes Before Council Committee: On November 18, the Hawaii County Council Committee on Public Works & Parks and Recreation voted on a resolution granting a sign variance for the Waipio Cookhouse. Larry Vidlak, a member of the Cookhouse LLC, testified from Hilo about the changes made to the design of the sign in order to win a favorable recommendation from the committee.
