KAWAIHAE, Hawaii – The Hawai’i Police Department reports a complete road closure at the intersection of Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway and Kawaihae Road due to a traffic accident.

A photo submitted by TJ Ka’aekuahiwi via our Facebook page shows an overturned truck at the location. A police officer can be seen directing traffic.

Avoid this intersection and take alternate routes. Expect delays if you’re in this area. The intersection should re-open in about an hour. Please drive with Aloha.
