KEALAKEHE (BIVN) - One of the first votes by the new Hawaii County Council is made to approve Okabe, the first appointee of the Harry Kim administration.

KEALAKEHE, Hawaii – The first appointee of the new administration of Mayor Harry Kim was approved by the Hawaii County Council in Kona on Wednesday, Dec. 21.

Wil Okabe, a former Hawaii State Teachers Association president and previous East Hawaii liaison to Governor David Ige, will serve as the managing director of Hawaii County government.

Okabe and the council had a brief talk story during the confirmation, expressing support for one another and hope for a good working relationship.
