(BIVN) – State and local lawmakers went back-and-forth in Hilo on Wednesday.

State Senator Russell Ruderman joined State Representatives Richard Onishi, Richard Creagan, and Nicole Lowen for the November 1 update before a Hawaii County Council Governmental Relations and Economic Development Committee.

The discussion comes at a delicate time between county politics and the state capitol, following the divisive special legislative session held to find funding for the Honolulu rail project.
