HILO, Hawai‘i - The "Forum on Hula: Tradition, Innovation, Globalization and Change," was sponsored by OHA and held at ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center.

(BIVN) – A panel of kumu hula spoke about the meaning and evolution of hula during a forum held Friday at the ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center.

Kumu hula Snowbird Bento, Kekuhi Keliikanakaoleohaililani, Hōkūlani Holt and Taupōuri Tangarō were featured speakers in the Forum on Hula: Tradition, Innovation, Globalization and Change. Noe Noe Wong-Wilson served as the moderator of the discussion.

The talk was sponsored by the Office of Hawaiian Affairs. It was part of the ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center’s cultural enrichment programming, hosted in celebration of the 55th Annual Merrie Monarch Festival.
