A bill in the legislature that would enable funding for maintenance of private subdivision roads from taxes paid on gasoline is on the agenda for a House Ways & Means Committee meeting on April 1st.
Rob Tucker of Friends of Puna’s Future has been keeping Puna in the loop… the law would be of great benefit to the numerous private roads in the district’s sprawling subdivisions.
You can track Bill 1626 through the state legislature’s website.

Government beach road in lower Puna (Honolulu lading road) is not a private subdivision road. It is a county maintained road that as of last month was almost inpassible due to the large number of large potholes. It hasonly been poorly maintained( slug in pot holes that turns to mud with the first rain). We the people who live on a have to travel on daily, have suffered damaged cars. It is time to help us,as the rad maintanance departtment will not without numerous phone calls and walk in requests.
