(BIVN) – A reported water main break has closed a part of Aliʻi Drive in Kailua-Kona next to the Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel.

UPDATE (3:45 p.m.) – Department of Water Supply reports repairs to the water main break on Aliʻi Drive between Kamehameha Hotel and Likana Lane continue.

Police have closed both lanes of traffic on Aliʻi Drive in this area. The repair is estimated to be completed within the next 5 hours. Motorists should use alternate routes during this time, county officials say.
