Today, Mayor Billy Kenoi presented his preliminary budget to the Hawaii County Council.

Kenoi admits it was a challenge, but somehow his administration has found a way to balance the budget, closing a projected $38.8 million gap.

Some County Councilmembers have been vocal in their quest for details about the administration’s proposed budget. Kenoi says that after the final budget proposal is submitted in the coming months, it will be in their hands to approve.
