The Hawaii County Redistricting Commission met in Hilo on Thursday, but once again, a lack of needed software is threatening to delay the process of redrawing district lines after the 2010 U.S. Census.

The state still hasn’t secured the software from vendor Esri, but the commission needs the program for the work the is ahead.

The commission hopes to met again in just a few weeks, hoping that the software will be in hand by then.

  1. Next meeting is June 2nd at 1:30 pm in the Hilo Council Chambers. David, pls come on time instead of at the very end of the meeting so that you can give your audience a more complete report. Those who are interested deserve to know what’s happening. For more info, check the county website http://www.co.hawaii.hi.us. and click on Redistricting Commission. All the info is there.

  2. How is it possible that 6 months later nobody can access your software. ? Duh ?
Is it really so difficult to PUT IN THE LANDMarks and boundaries of the screwed up mess you made of upper Puna.
Really. You think we are too stupid not to realize a lobbyist working on the commission is giving district 5 all upper puna and the majority of upper PUNA is a 3 Rd district for HILO.
How to get nothing . Divide highway 11 into HILO.
We know that kea’au. , kurtistown , mountainview and Glenwood are upper PUNA. Why are the commissioners Violating the sunshine law. ?
    A
