The “Mayor’s 2011 Health Fest” was held in Kona this past weekend. The event, which was held in Hilo the weekend before, was themed “Our Island, Our Families, Our Health,”
Once again, the day started with a Mayor-a-thon fun run, and included many of the same events held on the east side of the island, like this rhythmic zumba workout.
Also: Tahitian entertainment, the Kealekehe Ukulele Band, belly dancing, keiki jumping castle and water slide, pool activities like water aerobics, and a giant, coordinated hula hoop exercise.
The Health Fest is designed to promote the health and wellness of all the citizens of Hawaii Island. All were welcome at the Health Fest and were encouraged to participate in the various health and fitness activities, exhibits and food. Nd it was all free.
