PAHOA, Hawaii – Hawaii County Council Member Greggor Ilagan will facilitate a meeting this Friday to discuss last week’s sudden news that the Hawaii DOE has cut bus transportation for 60 Hawai’i Academy of Arts and Sciences Charter School children in Puna.

The meeting – which is not open to the public – will be held at the Pahoa High School conference room on Friday August 9, at 4 p.m. It will involve Senator Russell Ruderman, Representative Faye Hanohano, HAAS Principal Steve Hirakami and Pahoa High School Principal Darlene Bee. The councilman is hoping to find possible solutions to situation.

Ilagan promised to try to assist the Puna-based charter school during Sunday’s gathering of school administrators and parents.
