STORY SUMMARY

POLICE: Ford pickup involved in HPP gunshot incident has been located, abandoned. Paradise Drive at 29th Ave reopened.

HAWAIIAN PARADISE PARK – A Ford pickup involved in a HPP gunshot incident Monday has been located, police say.

The vehicle was found abandoned.

Paradise Drive at the intersection of 29th Ave, closed earlier today, has been reopened.

At 2:47 p.m. Hawaii County Police issued an alert, reporting that Paradise Drive in HPP was closed at 29th intersection following “gunshots fired from a White Ford Pickup, diesel with dually tires, black gate, utility boxes,” which fled the scene and was last spotted in the Volcano area.

Just before 4 p.m., police reported the pickup was found. A half hour later the HPP intersection was open again.

We will have more information when it becomes available.
