STORY SUMMARY

WAIPIʻŌ VALLEY, Hawaiʻi - The closure will take place on the third Wednesday of every month, starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 2:30 p.m. Local traffic will be allowed.

(BIVN) – General maintenance on Waipi‘o Valley Road will take place every third Wednesday of the month for the foreseeable future, which means the road will be open to local traffic only on those days.

The County of Hawai‘i Department of Public Works Highways Division says the road work will include tree trimming, weed whacking, and repairing potholes. It will be performed between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., weather and construction conditions permitting.

Waipi‘o Valley Road will be closed while maintenance work is conducted, the County says. Waipi‘o Valley Road will be open to local traffic only (residents and farmers) during this time.

Signs will be posted advising motorists of the road closure.

“The County of Hawai‘i Department of Public Works apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks the community for their patience and understanding,” a County news release said.
