Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park protects, studies, and provides access to Kilauea and Mauna Loa, two of the world’s most active volcanoes. Established in 1916, HVNP is the most visited attraction on Hawai’i Island. The 333,086-acre park extends from sea level to 13,677 feet, and provides critical habitat to endemic and endangered plant, bird, bat and sea turtle species.
